Arsenal – Liverpool
. This clash may prove decisive in the battle for the Champions League spots. Arsenal are on a six-game winning streak and many people think they’re in the battle for the title, but Arsene Wenger will want to make sure that his side qualifies for the CL next season. Liverpool suffered a disappointing defeat against United in the last round and the top 4 seems far away now. They are five points below United and will have to win their games and hope the Red Devils slip somewhere. Arsenal recorded a win in their last eight Premier League home games, meanwhile Liverpool won five out of their last six away fixtures. Danny Welbeck is a doubt for Arsenal after not featuring in England’s last game against Italy and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is back in training but won’t be available for this one. Martin Skrtel and Steven Gerrard are suspended for the visitors. There are also concerns about the fitness of Sturridge, Sterling and Lallana. Four out of the five last meeting between these two teams finished with more than 2.5 goals in them and it won’t be a surprise if this derby also has many goals in it.
Tip: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.70
Roma – Napoli
Roma have a lot of injury problems before this match against Napoli. Key players like Strootman, Balzaretti, Maicon and Gervinho are definitely going to miss this one while Francesco Totti is a doubt. Napoli manager Rafael Benitez will have to deal with the absence of Gökhan Inler who is suspended. His players are five points behind Lazio who are currently sitting in the last place that gives access to the Champions League. Napoli are in desperate need of points, but Roma’s home form has been impressive. They haven’t lost in 17 out of their last 18 home games so far this season and, even though, their recent form hasn’t been very good they still are a tough team to beat at home. Napoli have won the last three games against these opponents and this should give them some confidence. It’s expected to be a nervy affair and the pressure will be huge, so I don’t expect this to be a high-scoring game.
Tip: Under 2.5 goals @ 1.80
Cagliari – Lazio
Lazio are in terrific form and have catched up with Roma, sitting just one point behind their fierce rivals. The visitors won their last six games in the domestic league, keeping a clean sheet in four of them. Cagliari recently appointed Zdenek Zeman in hopes of avoiding relegation, but things haven’t worked so far for them. Luca Ceppitelli is suspended for the hosts and won’t be able to take part in this match while Edson Braafheid is a doubt for the visiting side. Seeing as Roma will play Napoli, this is a great chance for Lazio to overtake them. A win here is a must if they want to play in the Champions League next season.
Tip: 2 @ 1.83
Borussia Dortmund – Bayern Munich
The games between these two teams are always interesting. Dortmund are out of the relegation battle and they are four points away from the sixth spot which gives a chance of playing in the Europa League. Bayern lost shockingly against Gladbach and will want to get back on the winning track, even though they have a ten point lead over Wolfsburg. The visitors haven’t lost in 36 out of their last 38 Bundesliga games and scored three or more goals in their last three fixtures away from home. Oliver Kirch and Marcel Schmelzer are injured for Dortmund and may be replaced with Sokratis and Eric Durm. Bayern also have key players injured in the likes of Robben, Ribery and Alaba. Both teams will want to win this one and will give it their best, but the draw seems like the most likely result here.
