Barcelona – Paris Saint Germain
Barcelona humiliated PSG in France and now will be looking to finish the job. Their place in the 1/2 finals looks guaranteed, but they should avoid complacency. Thomas Vermaelen will surely miss the game while Iniesta is a doubt and probably won’t be risked. Both teams won their last domestic games and come into this one in good form. PSG will have key players returning from suspension but still won’t be able to use Thiago Motta, Thiago Silva and Serge Aurier. The visitors will need to score three goals if they want to have a chance of qualifying which means there will be free space for Barcelona to exploit. The French team will be boosted by the return of Ibrahimovic and may punish the home team but the trio of Messi, Neymar and Suarez looks unstoppable, so it’s likely that both teams will score.
Tip: Both teams to score @ 1.62
Bayern Munich – FC Porto
Porto shocked the world last week with a convincing 3-1 victory against the favorites Bayern and are in a really good position right now. The Portuguese team are still undefeated in this season’s Champions League and will be looking to maintain this status. But now they face the difficult task of playing away in Munich where it’s surely going to be very difficult for them. The hosts are still missing many key players and will be hoping that Lahm, Ribery, Benat and Schweinsteiger return, although it seems unlikely. The visitors are without their first choice backs Alex Sandro and Danilo who will miss out because of suspensions. Bayern will go all out of attack from the first minute because they’ll need at least two goals and Porto will try to nick one on the counter. We saw many goals in the first leg and this one has the potential to be the same.
Tip: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.52
Real Madrid – Atletico Madrid
The first leg finished without goals and Real Madrid will be looking to capitalize on the current situation. Atletico will sit back deep and try to punish their opponents on the counter while Real will dominate possession and control the game. The hosts will miss key players in the likes of the injured Bale and Modric, meanwhile Marcelo is suspended, so Ancelotti will hope that Coentrao is fit for the match. Atleti’s only missing players is Mauro Suarez. Real’s home form against their opponents has been impressive, but the visitors are on a nine game undefeated streak against them and even a draw here could qualify them through as long as there are goals in it. Both teams will be careful because every goal gives the team who scored it a huge advantage, plus the pressure and the nerves will be huge.
Tip: Under 2.5 goals @ 1.85
Monaco – Juventus
Juventus achieved a minimal victory in Italy after a questionable penalty but now need to step up their game. Monaco performed well and this result isn’t so bad for them. The title looks won for Juventus and they can concentrate on the Champions League where they have a good chance of reaching the final. Lacina Traore, Geoffrey Kondogbia and Jeremy Toulalan will surely miss this one while Tiemoué Bakayoko is a doubt after missing their last league game. Juventus’ biggest absence will be Paul Pogba. Monaco’s last three home games ended in a tie and it looks like the likely result here.
