Liverpool – Chelsea
. This Saturday the 11th Round in the English Premier League starts with a derby – Liverpool vs Chelsea. The games between these two teams have always been passionate and full of emotion. Last season we saw Chelsea do the double over Liverpool, and the second game cost the Merseyside team the title. Now they will be looking for revenge against the Blues, who are top of the league and are undefeated. The problem for Liverpool is their form – they only won one out of their last matches, scoring two goals in all of them. Their strike force just isn’t the same without Luis Suarez. Daniel Sturridge will most likely miss out on the game, which means more problems in offense for the home team. Chelsea on the other hand weren’t at their best in the last three games, which can be worrying for Jose Mourinho’s side. I think he will prefer a more conservative approach for this game, just like he did last time and against all of the top teams this season, and we won’t see many goals in this nervy affair.
Tip: Under 2.5 goals @ 1.90
Manchester United – Crystal Palace
After losing the Manchester Derby against City last week, United will look for a win in the match against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford. The away side has been a boogey team for many top squads, but United didn’t seem to have much of a problem against them last season, winning both games without conceding in them. Palace don’t have a win in their last four games and United are in desperate need of points if they want to be a force in the battle for the Champions League places. Crystal Palace has also failed to score in eight of the 10 Premier League meetings with Manchester United. The Red Devil’s defense is leaky, with them not having kept a clean sheet since the 4-0 win against QPR, but I think this time David De Gea won’t have to pick the ball out of his net again.
Tip: United to keep a clean sheet @ 1.90
Southampton – Leicester
The Saints are the overachievers in the Premier League at the moment. Nobody would have expected them to be in second place after ten games, but it’s a fact. Ronaldo Koeman has done a tremendous job since being appointed in the summer. Many doubted his transfer policy, selling most of the club’s stars like Luke Shaw, Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert, but he managed to bring in players like Graziano Pelle, Dusan Tadic, Ryan Bertrand and Toby Alderweireld, who fit in perfectly in his side and are now on a four game winning streak. After the upset Leicester pulled against Manchester United, they managed to win only one point in five games. Their form has dropped dramatically and if they don’t figure out how to stop Soton’s attacking power, they’re doomed to a defeat in this match.
Tip: Southampton @ 1.44
West Ham – Aston Villa
Another unexpected over performer this season is West Ham. The Hammers made their best start in a Premier League season ever and are currently sitting at the fifth place with 17 points. Villa has lost their last six games and things aren’t looking very well for Paul Lambert. Last time they almost won against Tottenham, but the Spurs managed to make a comeback in the last minutes of the game and stole all three points from Villa Park. This certainly will affect Villa’s morale, which was already poor enough to begin with. The Hammers are currently flying high and will look to record their second win in a row against The Villains.
Tip: West Ham @ 1.75
Werder Bremen – Stuttgart
The last team in the Bundesliga table Werder Bremen is facing the fifteenth Stuttgart in Saturday’s late Bundesliga fixture. Bremen recorded their first win last round, when Franco Di Santo scored two to help his team win against Maniz. Stuttgart on the other hand lost catastrophically 0-4 against Wolfsburg at home. Things don’t look very well for both teams, who have the worst two defenses in the league. This, and the fact, that in the last five meeting between these two sides have ended with both of them scoring makes me think that they won’t manage to keep a clean sheet on Saturday.
Tip: Both Teams to Score @ 1.44
