Newcastle United – Arsenal
Newcastle’s recent streak isn’t good – the Magpies have lost three out of their last four games, the most recent one against Everton. They haven’t won any of their last six games against their opponents on Saturday, losing four in the process. Now they face an in-form Arsenal team who were knocked out of the Champions League but didn’t give up without a fight. They won their last five domestic matches and are looking confident in achieving a top four finish. The Gunners will have to cope without Arteta, Diaby, Debuchy, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Paulista, while Wilshere and Rosicky are doubts. Newcastle’s injury list is longer and they’ll have trouble in the heart of their defense, where Fabricio Coloccini is suspended and Stephen Taylor is injured. Key striker Papiss Demba Cisse will also miss the game due to suspension. Arsenal are on a good run against Newcastle and will like to put their disappointing performance in the Champions League behind them and a weak at home Newcastle side are the perfect opponents.
Tip: 2 @ 1.60
Stoke City – Crystal Palace
Palace have conceded at least one goal in their last five Premier League fixtures which means their defense has been pretty leaky as of late. Their away form has been impressive and the visitors were defeated only once in their last six matches away from home. Stoke lost their last match against WBA and will want to get back to winning ways before the international break. However, their record against Crystal Palace hasn’t been very good recently. They won only two times from their last six games against this opponent. Victor Moses, Erik Pieters and Jonathan Walters are doubtful for this match, but there is a strong possibility that they’ll feature. Palace will have to play without their suspended captain Mile Jedinak, while Wilfried Zaha will be assessed before the start of the match. A win here will be important for both teams and they’ll give their best to achieve it.
Tip: Both teams to score @ 2.10
Freiburg – Augsburg
Freiburg haven’t been convincing at home and won only one of their last six matches while Augsburg were victorious in three of their last six games. Both teams need the win desperately as Freiburg are fighting to stay up and Augsburg are close to the Champions League places. Marc Torrejón is suspended for the hosts and probably will be replaced by Stefan Mitrovic in the center of the defense. The visitors have no new injury concerns and probably won’t make any changes to their line-up. The last three times these teams met Augsburg were victorious and considering their recent forms I think the visitors will come out victorious once again.
Tip: 2 @ 2.40
Toulouse – Bordeaux
Bordeaux are on an eight-game undefeated run and their opponents currently are in the relegation zone, having won only twice in their last 13 games. Toulouse have a new manager who certainly would’ve liked an easier welcome fixture than the Derby de la Garonnes against in-form Bordeaux. The visiting side won against champions PSG and their confidence is sky-high. This win put them straight back in the race for a spot in Europe. The pressure is on their opponents who are going to need all three points if they want to have better chances of avoiding relegation. The last three meetings between these teams finished with wins for Bordeaux and I don’t think it’ll be much different on Saturday.
