Newcastle United – West Ham
Newcastle are on a terrible run and have lost nine out of their last ten Premier League games. They have a two point lead from Hull, but won’t just leave things to chance and will try to win this game. West Ham are going to finish mid-table and don’t have anything to play for except their pride. Their finish to the season has been poor and considering that they failed to win in any of their last 11 away fixtures in the league, it’s highly unlikely that they’ll cause an upset on the last day. Newcastle must try to end the season with a good result here or else they could face relegation which would be a disaster.
Tip: 1 @ 1.80
Everton – Tottenham
Spurs need a win here to secure their qualification for the Europa League. Southampton are one point behind them and will give it their best against City to try to get a spot in Europe. Everton had an average season and The hosts will be without Bryan Oviedo, Tony Hibbert, Darron Gibson, Steven Pienaar, Leighton Baines and Aaron Lennon who is on loan from Spurs. The visiting side won’t be able to rely on Kyle Walker, Ben Davies and Michael Vorm. Everton’s home record against Tottenham has been impressive – they haven’t lost in any f their last seven fixtures at the Goodison. We saw more than 2.5 goals in 14 of Tottenham’s last 15 away matches in the league so this could be an entertaining end to the season for both teams.
Tip: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.63
Hull City – Manchester United
Hull are playing for their survival, but their chances don’t look good. The Tigers must win this match and hope that Newcastle slip up against West Ham if they want to retain their elite status. They will be without the suspended Jake Livermore plus the injured Robert Snodgrass, Curtis Davies, Mohamed Diame and Gaston Ramirez. United are guaranteed a top four finish, but would like to finish the season with a win. Their recent record against Hull has been convincing – the Red Devils won the last seven times these two teams met and won’t do their opponents any favors.
Tip: 2 @ 2.25
Empoli – Sampdoria
Sampdoria’s recent poor run has seen them drop out of the spots that allow participation for the Europa League, but because Genoa didn’t get a license, Sinisa Mihajlovic and his side are back in the race. A win here could help their cause a lot and they need to be at their best for the final games of the season. Empoli don’t have anything to play for and have lost their last two games in the league. Sampdoria have a great record against their opponents, winning six out of the last seven meetings between them. The visitors will have to deal with the absences of Eder and Djamel Mesbah while Empoli will be without Tiberio Guarente and Simone Verdi for this match. Sampdoria have the players to overturn their bad results and I expect them to do it.
