Udinese – Lazio
. Lazio lost their last two league games which immediately led to them dropping out of the European spots. Udinese also haven’t won in the last two fixtures but they faced much tougher opponents in the likes of Juventus and Napoli. Panagiotis Kone and Giovanni Pasquale will miss the match for the hosts because of suspension but Antonio Di Natale is ready to lead their attack. Lazio will have to play without goalkeeper Federico Marchetti, Stefano Mauri and Lorik Cana who are also suspended. The good news for them will be the return of Felipe Anderson to the starting eleven. Lazio desperately need a win here and Udinese are willing to wait for counter-attacking opportunities. The visitors have Serie A’s third best offense and saw both teams score in six of their last seven away games and on the other side Udinese have both scored and conceded in four of their last five fixtures so it’s going to be an entertaining game with many goals in it.
Tip: Both teams to score
Roma – Parma
Parma are currently at the bottom of the league and the future doesn’t look bright for them. They lost their last four league matches and are currently twelve points away from the safety zone. Roma managed to return to winning ways against Cagliari and are still in desperate need of points because Napoli are starting to catch up with them. The hosts will receive a boost in attack with the return of Gervinho from the Africa Cup of Nations and they will be looking to unleash their offensive power on probably the worst side in Serie A. I just don’t see how this won’t turn out to be a convincing win for Roma.
Tip: 1 (-1.5) @ 1.85
Celta Vigo – Atletico Madrid
In the evening fixture of the 23rd round of Liga BBVA Celta Vigo will host Atletico Madrid in attempt to stop the current champions. After winning 4-0 against Real Madrid, the visitors are flying high and are only four points away from the first place. They don’t have any missing players for this match and that will be a huge boost for them. Atleti haven’t lost in any of their last five meetings against this opponent in all competitions and would like to continue this tradition. Meanwhile Celta will have to produce something very special if they want to come out with something from this game.
Tip: 2 @ 2.10
Lorient – Olympique Lyonnais
Lyon drew against title contenders PSG and now have a two point advantage over them before the start of this round. Marseille are also in the title race, which means that L’OL need to win this match if they still want to be on top after this weekend. Their star man Alexandre Lacazette is still injured but Clinton N’Jie and Nabil Fekir proved to be good alternatives in the match versus PSG. The visitors’ league for is still decent and they haven’t lost any of their last nine games. This will undoubtedly be a hard game for Lyon but if they want to be champions they need to win these kind of matches.
Tip: 2 @ 2.30
Hertha Berlin – Freiburg
Two teams who are fiercely fighting in the battle for relegation face each other in this game. The last three times these two sides met the fixtures ended as a draw both at half and full time. We saw less than 2.5 goals in Freiburg’s six out of the last seven matches in the Bundesliga and in Hertha’s last three. These teams don’t score very often and seeing as this will be an even battle they wouldn’t want to risk anything.
Tip: Under 2.5 goals @ 1.75
