Derby – Chelsea
. Chelsea are back on the winning track and managed to pick themselves up after the defeat against Newcastle with two wins against Sporting and Hull. The only injury concern for the Blues is Thibaut Courtois who missed the league match this weekend and he probably won’t be risked for this one. After Cahill’s recent bad performances he may be benched for Kurt Zouma and seing as Azpilicueta and Fabregas didn’t play during the weekend it’s likely that they’ll start this one. Jose Mourinho said that the next match against Stoke is in six days so he’ll probably won’t make many changes to his squad. Derby will be without Ryan Shotton (suspention) and George Thorne (injury). They lost against Middlesbrough and would like to give their fans at Pride Park something to celebrate about but I think Chelsea won’t let a lower league side throw them out of the competition.
Tip: 2 @ 1.4
Bournemouth – Liverpool
Liverpool’s nightmare continues as The Reds lost against rivals Manchester United on Sunday and it future doesn’t look bright for Brendan Rodgers. They haven’t won in three games and their manager may rest some key players for this match. Bournemouth won dramatically 5-3 against Cardiff and extended their unbeaten run to 12 games. They are on top of their form and have all the quality to upset the odds here and beat Liverpool at home.
Tip: To Qualify – Bournemouth @ 2.63
Borussia Moenchengladbach – Werder Bremen
We’ve seen over 2.5 goals in twelve of Bremen’s last thirteen away games in the Bundesliga and Borussia have seen more than 2.5 goals in ten of their last eleven home games so this one is looking like a cracker of a match. Gladbach’s last three home fixtures finished with more than 2.5 goals in them so both teams score and concede many goals in their games. The hosts put an end to their recent bad run with two wins in their last two matches and seing as Werder are fighting not to get relegated neither team would want to lose here.
Tip: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.50
Hoffenheim – Bayer Leverkusen
When these two sides play it’s always entertaining and we expect another great game on Wednesday. The only missing player for Hoffe is the centre half Niklas Süle. The hosts have scored two or more goals in 16 of their last 19 home games and Leverkusen have scored at least two in eight of their last nine fixtures against Hoffenheim in all competitions. The last four games between these two sides finished with more than 2.5 goals in them and that’s looking likely to be the case again.
Tip: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.65
Borussia Dortmund – Wolfsburg
After losing once more against Hertha, Dortmund are still in the relegation zone. Their morale has definitely suffered and Wolfsburg will be looking to capitalize on that. The Wolves currently are second and it looks like they are going to be fighting for a Champions League spot this season and a win against Dortmund is a must. We saw over 2.5 goals in 14 of Wolfsburg’s last 17 away games in the Bundesliga and the hosts scored at least two against their opponents in eight of the last nine games these two sides met. Dortmund will need to pull of something extraordinary in order to surprize Wolfsburg in this game and I don’t think they have what it takes right now to win this clash.
