Football Predictions 31.12.2014 – Premier League

Newcastle United – Burnley Newcastle are without a manager for this one as Alan Pardew agreed to begin talks with Crystal Palace and John Carver and Steve Stone will be in charge for the game. They ended their bad run with an impressive win against Everton during the weekend. Burnley really shocked everyone with a comeback against the champions Manchester City and drew 2-2 after being 2-0 down. Sean Dyche’s side will be motivated to take something from St. James’ Park and now is the perfect moment to do so. Tip: X2 @ 2.00 Southampton – Arsenal Soton proved against Chelsea that they’ll be a tough opponent for the big teams at home and they need to do it again against Arsenal. The Gunners won their last two games and have equal points with Southampton, who are fourth. This game is very important for both teams and it’s going to be a very close fight. Bad news for the hosts as Morgan Schneiderlin received a red card against Chelsea and will be suspended for this match. Arsenal will be without Olivier giroud and Danny Welbeck for this game and we could see Theo Walcott return to the starting line-up after healing from an injury. Soton have drawn their last three home games against Arsenal in all competitions and seeing as both teams wouldn’t like to lose this one, the draw looks like a logical result here. Tip: X @ 3.40 West Ham – West Brom West Ham’s amazing run was put to an end by Chelsea and Arsenal and now the Hammers are sixth. Now they have a chance to get back on the winning track by playing against West Brom who sacked their manager recently. WBA lost their last three games and conceded at least two goals in all of them. The Baggies will be without Stephane Sessegnon, Jonas Olsson, Sebastien Pocognoli and James Morrison, who are all injured. James Tomkins will miss the game for the hosts because of suspension. This game is the perfect chance for the hosts to end their winless streak and extend WBA’s bad run. The Hammers have a great home record and I don’t think they’ll have any problems winning this one. Tip: 1 @ 1.85 Tottenham – Chelsea These two teams meet again after Chelsea won the Stamford Bridge fixture with 3-0. Tottenham started that game very well and had many chances in the first 20 minutes but from then on it was only Chelsea. Now Spurs will want to take revenge against their London rivals but it won’t be easy. The Blues are top of the league and would like for it to stay that way and Tottenham are two points away from the fourth spot. The hosts have been undefeated in their last five Premier League matches and their form drastically improved. But their recent record against Chelsea isn’t very good – they couldn’t win any of their last six games against The Blues in all competitions and I think we’ll see many goals in this one. Tip: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.95
