Football Tips 11.12.2014 – Europa League

Dnipro – St Etienne  The French side is the only team in this group to not have a single game with more than 2.5 goals in it. They drew all their five matches so far and still have a chance of qualifying but they need to rely on Quarabag not winning against Inter. For Dnipro to qualify they would have to win this match and also hope that Inter win theirs. In this group we saw very few goals overall and I don’t think something will drastically change in the last round. Only one of St Etienne’s last ten games in all competitions has finished with more than 2 goals so I think it’s a pretty compelling statistic. Tip: Under 2.5 @ 1.60 Borussia Moenchengladbach – Zurich Gladbach need a draw or a win to secure their participation in the next stage of the tournament and for Zurich the only option is a win here in Germany. But that’s easier said than done – Borussia have a great home record in the tournament so far and haven’t lost a game at their stadium. Their form dropped recently but the win against Hertha Berlin will give them the morale boost they need for this fixture. For the Germans Martin Stranzl,Thorben Marx and Max Kruse are in doubt for the match but their side still looks strong enough. Zurich lost both of thei european away matches so far and it seems unlikely that they’ll achieve their first success away from home against Gladbach. Tip: 1 @ 1.50 Besiktas – Tottenham With both teams securing their qualification it’s only a matter of who will finish first in this group. Besiktas’ key players Atiba Hutchinson and Demba Ba will probably miss due to suspension and injury, which will be a big loss for the Turkish team. For Spurs Kyle Walker and Adebayor are still out and Chiriches, Naughton and Capoue will be assessed before the match to see if they can feature in it. A draw will guarantee the top spot for the English side and even though Besiktas may not be pleased with such a result, the absence of Ba and Hutchinson may provide vital for the outcome of this match. Legia – Trabzonspor Both teams have secured their places in the competition’s next round but it’s still to be decided who will finish at the top of the group. Legia already won the first match between this two teams in Turkey and they would definitely like to repeat that again. The Turkish team lost heavily to Besiktas during the weekend and this would surely affect their motivation for this game. I think both teams will approach this fixture with caution and we won’t see many goals, just like in most Rieka’ matches. Sevilla – Rijeka Sevilla would need at least a point here in order to go through to the next stage and only a win will satisfy Rijeka. Benoit Tremoulinas is the only player who’s missing for the Spanish side but the injury list at Rijeka is much longer and eight players could miss this game. The hosts have won both of their home games in the competitions so far, meanwhile Rijeka haven’t even scored a goal in their away fixtures yet. The first match finished in a 2-2 draw and given Sevilla’s strong attack I expect them to score many on Thursday. Tip: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.70 St Liege – Feyenoord The Dutch are in amazing form and haven’t lost any of their last seven games in all competitions. Standard Liege are on a completely different path – they won only once in their last five fixtures. The Belgians don’t have a chance of progressing forward but a win is a must for Feyenoord if they don’t want to depend on the result from the other match. I just see the away side having too much quality for Standard to handle and given the importance of this match I’m sure Feyenoord would like to win it. Tip: 2 @ 2.20
