Blackpool – Nottingham Forest
. Blackpool have lost four out of their last five games in the league and still sit bottom of the table. The gap between them and the 21st team Brighton is 10 points and at this time relegation looks like the most plausible outcome for Blackpool. Forest are on a two game winning streak but are still away from the playoff zone. They will be without key player Britt Assombalonga who could miss the rest of the season due to injury. The away side need to close the gap between the top teams and a win against struggling Blackpool could really help them achieve this.
Tip: 2 @ 2.00
Bayer Leverkusen – Wolfsburg
Top of the top teams in Germany face each other in the 21st round of the league. Bayer Leverkusel will be disappointed after losing against Werder Bremen last week and will look to return to the top four after dropping down to sixth place. Wolfsburg haven’t lost any of their last eight Bundesliga games but their away record against the hosts isn’t impressive. Wendell and Ömer Toprak are injured for Leverkusen and this will have an effect on their defensive stability. Bayer and Wolfsburg possess great attacking players and the fact that there have been more than 2.5 goals in the last 12 meeting between them proves it. Both teams will play for the win and we may see some attacking football which will lead to many goals being scored.
Tip: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.70
Hoffenheim – VfB Stuttgart
In this match we’ll see the worst defense versus the fourth overall worst in the Bundesliga. Both teams need to improve their defensive stability and even though their attacks aren’t the most prolific ones this can still be a high-scoring game. Hoffe have seen both teams score in seven of their last nine home fixtures and they have scored two or more goals in their last three meetings against this opponent. Games like this are essential to win for the visitors if they want to avoid relegation and they’ll give in their best to do so.
Tip: Both teams to score @ 1.61
Eintracht Frankfurt – Schalke 04
Eintracht have the third best attack in the league and only the likes of Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg are in front of them. We saw two or more goals being scored in six of their last eight home games in the Bundesliga. Schalke 04 have scored two or more against their opponent in the last four meeting between them. Frankfurt’s form has recently declined and they need to balance their attack and defense if they don’t want to be drawn into the relegation battle. Schalke have been more stable recently and Di Matteo seems to have found the right tactic. I expect a quiet first half and all the action to be in the second part of the match, including many goals.
Tip: Over 1.5 goals in the 2nd half @ 1.80
Palermo – Napoli
Palermo’s recent form isn’t good and even though they face pretty strong teams in the likes of Fiorentina, Roma, Sampdoria and Inter Milan, that doesn’t excuse their poor performances. They sit safe in mid table but are far from a spot in Europe. On the other hand Napoli have caught up with Roma by winning their last four games and are now just four points behind them. They haven’t lost in any of the last five meeting with Palermo in all competitions and manager Rafa Benitez will be looking confident about his chances. Giancarlo Gonzalez and Dries Mertens are suspended for Palermo and Napoli and both teams will have to cope with their absences. The Rosanero have a very good home record but the visitors have more to play for so I predict a tough win for them.
