West Bromwich Albion – Arsenal
. Arsenal’s injury situation has worsen with the addition of Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta and Yaya Sanogo. Striker Danny Welbeck is a doubt for the game so this means that Olivier Giroud will most likely lead the attacking line of The Gunners. Claudio Yacob is suspended for the home team after receiving a red card in the loss against Chelsea, plus Jonas Olsson, Silvestre Varela and Sebastien Pocognoli are injured. Arsenal have a pretty good record against WBA, having not lost any of the last 8 matches when these two sides met and considering WBA’s leaky defense, which has conceded at least two goals in their last six home games in The Premier League, the away side are favorites and I think they’ll win but it won’t be easy.
Tip: 2 @ 1.85
Liverpool – Stoke City
Liverpool’s terrible form continues as The Reds couldn’t win in Bulgaria against Ludogorets in the midweek Champions League Group Stage clash and they’re chances of progressing forward in the competition aren’t looking very good. The good news for the side are the returns of Adam Lallana, Philipe Coutinho and Dejan Lovren after being benched against Ludogorets. Mario Balotelli is also likely to be fit for the match but looking at Ricky Lambert’s current form it doesn’t seem likely that the Italian striker will feature from the start of the game. For Stoke Marc Wilson and Eric Pieters are doubts and for now it’s looking unlikely that they’ll start. Positive for Liverpool is the fact that the team has managed to keep 6 clean sheets in the last 7 home games against Stoke in all competitions. In addition, Stoke have been inconsistent so far and given their awful record at Anfield I expect the host finally to win.
Tip: 1 @ 1.73
Manchester United – Hull City
Manchester United are slowly starting to find their form and after a hard-fought 1-2 win at The Emirates they are currently fourth. Hull’s form on the other hand has dropped drastically and they lost their last three games in the league. The Tigers will be without Gaston Ramirez who picked up a red card during the 1-2 loss against Tottenham and Alex Bruce is a doubt for this game. United’s injury list is still very long and the only good news is that Falcao is back in training. United manager Louis van Gaal will be looking to extend his winning streak against Hull who have been pretty terrible away from home and have only one win, plus they lost six of their last games against The Red Devils. The hosts scored three or more goals against Hull in their last four meetings and I predict another high scoring game.
Tip: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.60
West Ham – Newcastle
Newcastle are the team in form in the Premier League right now and it’s difficult to stop them. West Ham suffered a defeat against Everton but they still hold the sixth place and are just one position lower than their opponents in this match. Both teams have injury problems but Newcastle’s situation looks worse. Steven Taylor, Emmanuel Riviere, Fabricio Coloccini, Tim Krull and Cheick Tiote returned to training after being injured but some of them may not start the game against West Ham. The Hammers were without Diafra Sakho, Steward Downing and other key players against Everton but it looks like they’re going to return and strengthen the home team. There have been scored over 2.5 goals in nine out of West Ham’s last eleven games but Newcastle’s defense looks pretty solid so far so I think they won’t concede many goals.
Tip: Under 2.5 goals @ 1.80
Hoffenheim – Hannover
Hoffehneim lost some of the momentum they gained and now they are on a three game losing streak. Their striker Adam Szalai is suspended which means that Anthony Modeste will start upfront. Hannover lost their last match against Bayer Levekusen but have two points more than their opponents. Last year the hosts won two times against Hannover and they have been a high scoring team this season and I expect this match to be a spectacle with many goals.
Tip: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.60
Charlton – Ipswich
Charlton were lucky to win a point against rivals Millwall last week and they are still just outside the playoff positions. They have drawn five of their last six championship games and are the only team unbeaten at home in the league. Ipswich’s recent form has been very impressive and they’re unbeaten in their last five games. They look very strong at the moment and I don’t think Charlton will be able to stop them.
