Football Tips 31.01.2015 – Premiership, Serie A, Liga BBVA, Ligue 1

Chelsea – Manchester City. It’s the first versus the second team in the table and given the controversies around Chelsea lately it’s promising to be an exciting clash. The Blues played 120 minutes in the Capital One Cup semi-final win against Liverpool and may feel tiredness. Branislav Ivanovic, Felipe Luis and Cesc Fabregas were injured in that match and are a doubt for Saturday’s derby. Striker Diego Costa is suspended and will miss the game. City are going to have to cope without Yaya Toure and Wilfried Bony who are at the African Cup of Nations. The visitors haven’t looked their best in recent weeks they have been unconvincing even after Aguero’s return. It’s going to be a tight game and both teams wouldn’t want to take too many risks so a draw at half time looks like an acceptable result for them. Tip: Draw at half time @ 2.20

Genoa – Fiorentina

There were more than 2.5 goals in Genoa’s last five games and Fiorentina’s last five out of six away fixtures so we may see some goals in this match. Both teams love attacking football and will try to entertain the viewers. Genoa’s recent form has seen them drop down to 7th place after winning only two points in their last six games. Juan Cuadrado will most likely leave Fiorentina but they still have strong wingers in Joaquin and Pasqual. Both teams have have defenders suspended in the likes of Luca Antonelli and Stefan Savic so we may see some defensive liabilities from them. Tip: Both teams to score @ 1.84

Eibar – Atletico Madrid

Eibar have socred in three out of their last five home games in Liga BBVA and the same can be said for 3 of Atletico’s last five away matches. The visitors would like to forget the disappointment durng midweek’s Copa del Rey clash with Barcelona and Eibar also are motivated to end a two game winless streak. Even though Atletico have a strong defense, I see both teams scoring in this match. Tip: Both teams to score @ 2.25

Metz – Nice

Metz possess the sixth best attack but also the sixth worst defense in the league. Their squad seems fairly unbalanced which can lead to surprising results. Nice have scored 7 goals in 2015 but have many unavailable players for this match due to suspension or injuries. We saw more than 2.5 goals in the visitors’ last three fixtures. Metz are fighting for relegation and Nice are in good form so I expect both teams to take an attacking approach. Tip: Both teams to score @ 1.90
