Liverpool vs. Southampton Betting Odds and Where to Watch Live

Liverpool will visit Southampton for the first part of the EFL Cup today on the 11th of January. The game will start at 7:45 pm GMT. You can catch the match live on Sky Sports 1 HD and Sky Sports 1. Because of controversial circumstances, Southampton will face Liverpool without their captain Jose Fonte as well as their midfielder Sofiane Boufal. Fonte filed a transfer request and the manager of the team confirmed that he would not be part of the team for the first leg of the EFL Cup, but he may participate in the second one. Boufal managed to pull out the African Nations Cup, because of a knee injury and will not be available for the next several weeks. Alex McCarthy, Matt Targett, Charlie Austin, and Cedric Soares will still be sidelined. Liverpool has welcomed Philippe Coutinho back to the squad, after a month of recovering from an ankle injury. Jordan Henderson will resume team training this Thursday. However, Joel Matip might be back in the squad, since he is looking to build his fitness before their trip to Old Trafford next Sunday. Claudio Puller told the Mirror that they played against Liverpool during the Premier League and it was a strong game for his athletes. He added that they played well. However, it will be important for this match to have more of the ball as well as try and have control over the game. Jurgen Klopp told the Liverpool Echo that today would see the best team they can line up. Their rating in England, the League Cup, is currently third, but while you are still in it, it is the most important cup. He added that he does not expect perfection, but he has high expectations since he sees them every day in training.
