Betting Predictions 19.02.2015 – Europa League

Roma – Feyenoord. Roma have a lot of problems with injured players which could create difficulties for them. Frederico Balzaretti and Kevin Strootman are out with long-term injuries and aren’t even in the team’s squad for Europa League. Juan Iturbe and Victor Ibarbo are also out but feature in the list. Francesco Totti and Maicon have light injuries and will be assessed before the match to see if they can play. For Feyenoord it is to be seen whether Luke Wilshere and Khalid Boulahrouz will recover in time for the match. The visitors have players who are in danger of being suspended for the second leg if they receive a yellow card. Both teams are trailing too much from the teams who are leaders in Serie A and Eredivisie which makes this competition the only chance for any of them to win something this year. Roma have been quite powerless in attack recently and Feyenoord also don’t seem to pose a huge attacking threat, so it would make sense for both teams to play safe in this first leg.

Tip: Under 2.5 goals @ 2.00

Liverpool – Besiktas

Liverpool are in good form recently and it seems like Brendan Rodger’s tactic is finally starting to work. They won against Palace in the FA Cup and now will like to continue their winning streak against Besiktas. The Turkish side won in a difficult match against Bursaspor with 3-2 and their confidence is also going to be high. The last time they played at Anfield Besiktas lost catastrophically 8-0 and now they’ll probably seek revenge. The host will have to cope without Lazar Markovic who is suspended. Steven Gerrard, Brad Jones, Lucas Leiva and Raheem Sterling will have to complete a fitness test before the match if they want to play in it. The goalkeeper of Tolga Zengin is injured which means Cenk Gonen will replace him. Their manager Slaven Bilic probably won’t make many changes from the team that won during the weekend. Besiktas aren’t a weak team and could cause Liverpool some trouble if the Reds underestimate them.

Tip: Both teams to score @ 2.00

Tottenham – Fiorentina

Two of the favorites in the tournament are meeting each other at such an early stage. Tottenham have no injury concerns and will probably field their best team, seeing as the second fixture of this tie will be three days before the Capital One Cup final against Chelsea. They would like to wrap things up here in London and that suggest an attacking approach from Mauricio Pochettino. Both teams are looking good right now but Fiorentina are probably in slightly better form because of the fact that they haven’t lost in any of their last eight matches. This will give them confidence and they would like to score an away goal here to make things more difficult for the hosts in the reverse fixture.

Tip: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.85
