Newcastle United – Sunderland
. On Sunday Newcastle will face Sunderland in the Tyne-Wear derby. The Magpies conceded eight goals in their last two games and after the win against Chelsea their form isn’t too impressive. The same could be said about Sunderland who haven’t won a game in their last six fixtures but also have recorded only one loss in them. Newcastle’s injury list is till long with Moussa Sissoko added to it after the Spurs game. Luckily for the host Jak Alnwick passed the fitness test and is available for selection after having a shoulder injury. Patrick van Aanholt is the only long term injured player for The Black Cats. Sunderland failed to score in five of their last six away games and there have been fewer than 2.50 goals in five out of their last six Premier League matches so I think this match will be a close battle with not so many goals.
Tip: Under 2.5 @ 1.73
Liverpool – Arsenal
Liverpool ended their bad run with a win against Bournemouth for the Carling Cup and would like to continue with the wins against Arsenal. Their opponents also performed well the last round, winning 4-1 against Newcastle. But this match is always very tough for Arsenal and it won’t be a different case on Sunday. They lost 5-1 the last time at Anfield and will be eager to get revenge against The Reds. The Liverpool manager will be without Sturridge, Flanagan, Balotelli and Glen Johnson. Dejan Lovren is a doubt after coming off at half time during the game against Bournemouth. Arsenal’s injury list is still long but there’s a chance for Nacho Monreal, Tomas Rosicky and Alex-Oxlade Chamberlane to be fit in time for the game. This match is going to be an exciting one and I think we’ll see many goals in it.
Tip: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.70
Marseille – Lille
Marseille lost against Monaco away last weekend and their form on the road still isn’t very good. Nonetheless they are still first in the league thanks mostly to their home form and they would like to keep it that way. Lille started finding their form after beating Toulouse and knocking out Bordeaux for the league cup. But those two games were at home and now we’ll have to see if they can do it again away. They will probably start with an unchanged line up from the game against Toulouse. If the hosts win this one they’ll be on top of the league at Christmas and I think this is a good enough motivation for them to overcome Lille.

Athletic Biblao – Atletico Madrid
After suffering a loss against Villareal, Atleti need to win this one if they still want to have a chance of catching Real Madrid. They’ll be without Mario Mandzukic and Koke, who are suspended, and Alessio Cerci and Arda Turan are a doubt for the match. This means that Atletico will have to reshuffle things in their starting line up in order to get something from this game. The good news for the away team are that they won seven out of the last eight games against their opponents. Athletic’s form hasn’t been very good – they lost against Cordoba and I don’t think their team has the strength to overcome Atletico on Sunday.
Tip: 2 @ 2.15
Sampdoria – Udinese
Sampdoria performed pretty well against Juventus last time out and managed to pick up a point from their visit to the champions. Now they have an easier opponent in Udinese but this doesn’t mean they should underestimate them, because they easily could be punished. Udinese lost against Verona and now need a victory if they want to be in the battle for the European places. After a great start to the season the away side became very inconsistent and need to fix this as soon as possible. Sampdoria haven’t lost in ten out of the last eleven games at home against Udinese and I don’t think we’ll see them lose on Sunday.
