Betting Tips 09.12.2014 – Champions League

Benfica – Bayer Leverkusen For Benfica this match is pointless because they don’t have a chance to overtake Zenit and qualify for Europa League since they lost two times against the Russian side and the difference is three points. Leverkusen secured their progression to the next round but will still need to fight for the first place in this group. Even though both sides score a lot in their respective league, the situation is very different in Europe. The last match between these two teams finished 3:1 to Leverkusen but now Benfica will be more relaxed and I don’t think we’ll see many goals in this fixture. Tip: Under 2.5 goals @ 1.80 Dortmund – Anderlecht Both teams have pretty much secured their qualifications for the Champions and Europa League and the only question is will BVB finish at the top of the group, or will Arsenal overtake them. The games between Dortmund and Arsenal ended in a 2-0 victory for the respective home side which means that if both teams have equal points it will be decided on goal difference. So with this in mind, Dortmund would like to score a lot of goals seeing that Arsenal play against Galatasaray and Anderlecht have had a 3.2 Average Goals per Match so I think that we’ll ses many goals on Tuesday night. Tip: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.40 Juventus – Atletico Madrid A draw would suit both teams as Juventus will secure their qualification and Atleti will retain the first position in this group. For Juventus to finish first they would need to win by two goals or more which is unlikely to happen. Both teams are in amazing form but I think they will lower the tempo for this game and considering the general lack of goals in Juventus’ matches in Europe it’s likely that this will be more of a hard battle than a football spectacle. Tip: Under 2.5 goals @ 1.53 Liverpool – Basel Liverpool’s attack hasn’t been very good this season but at least in the last games they managed to tighten their defense. The Reds need a win here if they want to qualify to the 1/8 finals but it won’t be easy. Basel already won the first match in Switzerland and aren’t going to give up without a fight. I expect the Swiss side to sit deep and given Liverpool’s not so potent strike force this match will probably be decided by one or two goals. Tip: Under 2.5 goals @ 2.05 Monaco – Zenit Petersburg This match will decide who will progress in the tournament and who will play in the Europa League. Monaco could afford a draw here but Zenit need a win if they want to qualify. All of Monaco’s games have had fewer than 2.5 goals and only one time Zenit had a a match with more than 2.5 goals so both teams haven’t been free-scoring. This statement is also true for their respective domestic league so it’s pretty likely that both sides will use a careful approach for this one. Tip: Under 2.5 goals @ 1.57
