Premier League Predictions for 01.03.2015

Liverpool – Manchester City. Both teams suffered disappointing results in Europe during midweek and will want to win their next league match which is very important for them. Liverpool are back in the top four race and a win here will help them out not to fall back behind other contenders Southampton and Manchester United. City reduced the difference from Chelsea to five points and seeing as the Blues don’t play this round due to their Capital One Cup Final, this is a great opportunity for the Citizens to put them under pressure. Liverpool’s players may be tired after playing 120 minutes on Thursday against Besitkas and losing on penalties.  The hosts haven’t lost in any of their last twelve home games against City in all competitions. The visitors are in a better condition, even though the match versus Barcelona required them to do a lot of running. They don’t have any injuries and key man Yaya Toure didn’t participate in the Champions League fixture, meaning he will be fresh for this clash. There have been more than 2.5 goals in the last seven games between these two teams and even though it’s very hard to predict who is going to win, there are many stats suggesting that we should count on many goals on Sunday. Tip: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.73

Arsenal – Everton

Arsenal let down many of their fans after losing at home against Monaco in the Champions League and desperately want to win this match. Arsene Wenger will probably bench Mertesacker and Giroud who underperformed and probably cost Arsenal the victory. Everton had a solid game against Young Boys on Thursday and are through to the next round in the Europa League. But in the domestic league things don’t look to bright for Roberto Martinez and the match on Thursday certainly won’t help their cause. The good news for the visitors are the returns of Gareth Barry and Leighton Baines to the team. Arsenal haven’t lost at home against Everton in their last 17 games and there were more than 2.5 goals in the last three meetings between the two sides, which means we’re in for an exciting game in London. Tip: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.73

Atalanta – Sampdoria

Both teams don’t look very stable at the moment. After losing three in a row, Atalanta are now only three points from the relegation zone and are under huge pressure. Sampdoria managed to win only three points from their last five fixtures and all of them were at home. The visitors have many suspended players in the likes of Roberto Soriano, Eder and Pedro Obiang, which makes Sinisa Mihajlovic’s task very difficult. On the other hand, Atalanta will have problems on the wings because four wide players aren’t available for this match. The hosts conceded in their last seven games and the visiting side couldn’t keep a clean sheet in their last five. Tip: Both teams to score @ 1.83

Werder Bremen – Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg continue to impress and are now on a ten game undefeated streak but their opponents are also in good form, being undefeated in their last six. The visiting side had a match on Thursday against Sporting and managed to snatch a draw which was enough for them to progress further in the competition. The hosts will miss their most creative player in the likes of Fin Bartels, who is suspended. The central defender Alejandro Gálvez is injured and will be replaced by Assani Lukimya. Both teams have been impressing lately but Wolfsburg have won the last four times when these two sides met and their squad is strong enough to do it again. Tip: 2 @ 1.90

Valencia – Real Sociedad

Valencia have been amazing at home this season, winning 11 of their last 13 home fixtures in the league. Real Sociedad are also in good form but their away record hasn’t been impressive. David Moyes and his side haven’t won in any of their last twelve away games. They are a team who relied more on winning their home games this season, which makes this clash extremely difficult. In addition, they will have to cope with the absence of the injured Carlos Vela. Valencia’s only missing player is the striker Paco Alcacer. I fully expect Valencia to continue their impressive home streak and win comfortably this game. Tip: 1 @ 1.53
