Football Tips 22.11 – Premier League, Championship, Ligue 1

Stoke City – Burnley. Both teams managed to win their games before the international break and will be looking to continue with that form. Stoke impressed at White Hart Lane and surprised many by defeating Tottenham, meanwhile Burnley recorded their first league win this season against Hull at home. Both teams are unlikely to make any changes from their previous games. Stoke are the favorites for this clash, but they haven’t won two games in a row this season. Their attacking force looks impressive with the likes of Diouf, Bojan and Moses, so I think they have enough class to win against Burnley. Tip: 1 @ 1.70

Newcastle United – QPR

Newcastle has been impressive lately and hasn’t lost in their last 6 games in all competitions, winning 5. They have many injury problems, but their side still looks good enough to challenge QPR, who haven’t won a point away from home this season, conceding 14 goals in 5 matches. The away side got a point against Man City, but I feel they should’ve won the game. In the last five games between this two teams Newcastle were undefeated, having won 4 of them. The Magpies are favorites here and should be able to win this one. Tip: 1 @ 1.83

Arsenal – Manchester United

These two teams usually were challenging for the title in the past and the games between them were title deciders, but the last two seasons things weren’t like that for them. Now they are both fighting for a Champions League spot if we look at their current positions (Arsenal 6th, Unitedd 7th). Both sides have injury problems in defense and when looking at their attacking players this may as well be a high scoring game, even though the last three games between these sides have had fewer than 2.5 goals in them. Arsenal will be without Mathieu Debuchy, Mesut Özil, Laurent Koscielny, David Ospina and Abou Diaby. They will miss their defenders the most, but the situation is much worse at United. Rafael, Marcos Rojo and Dalen Blind are out and Luke Shaw, Phil Jones, Johnny Evans and David De Gea are in doubt for this match, so this doesn’t leave them with many defensive options. Falcao has a chance to return after being sidelined, but it’s looking unlikely that he will start. The game will be very tight, with both squads having their problems and I think there are going to be many goals scored in this one. Tip: Both Teams to Score @ 1.62

Wigan – Middlesbrough

Malky Mackay will make his managerial debut for Wigan in this match, but the press are talking about him and chairman Dave Whelan for the wrong reasons. The Scottish manager is under investigation from the FA after allegedly making racist, homophobic and sexist and comments using text messages and emails while being in charge of Cardiff. Now the Wigan chairman Dave Whelan had to apologise for saying “Jewish people chase money more than everybody else”. This will no doubt raise concerns at DW Stadium and considering the fact that the home side is currently sitting in the bottom three  it wouldn’t surprise me a bit if Boro manage to win this game. They have been in great form and are only one point from the top, so I expect them to be highly motivated for this fixture. Tip: 2 @ 2.80

Watford – Derby

Two defeats in a row for Watford for the first time this season and they fell down to the fifth spot after being leaders. Derby destroyed Wolves by beating them 5-0 last game and is looking to extend their winning streak. Both teams are scoring goals for fun and if you look at the last five matches between them you can’t see, that there hasn’t been a game with fewer than 2.5 goals. There have been over 2.5 goals scored in Watford’s last 9 home games and in Derby’s last 4 matches, so I expect another one here. Tip: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.65

Bastia – Lyon

Lyon is in amazing form, having won all five of their last league matches. They are currently third in the league and will challenge PSG and Marseille for the title this season. Bastia is sitting in the bottom half of the table and their form has been inconsistent. They can’t win two games in a row and seeing that they beat Montpellier in the last round, it’s looking unlikely that they will break Lyon’s streak. Tip: 2 @ 2.05
